The wood parts of the chessmen are dipped in silver and gold, the bottoms of the chessmen are felted. Luxury Italian chess board is hand-made of the most precious and superior woods others have no comparison, the woods used are briarwood,bird's-eye-maple and root with a high gloss finish. In recent years, faux woods have appeared in the marketplace.
